Michael & I L O V E Mexico! We usually visit our favorite paradise in Cabo; however, Hurricane Odile had other plans for our journey last year and forced us to venture out of our “Cabo comfort zone”; and we found ourselves in Playa del Carmen. If your travels take you to Playa del Carmen, I hope you enJOY your stay as much as we did! Below are a few recommendations.
Let’s start with transportation. The direct flight from Dallas could not have been more of a breeze! We were immediately shuttled to our hotel, Rosewood Mayakoba, where they took such tremendous care of us; once we arrived, we didn’t have to think twice about transportation. The best time to visit Mexico is during late fall/early winter.
Rosewood Mayakoba was an absolute JOY! From the remarkable staff to the plush accommodations, this property leaves no detail left unturned (including the most amazing herb garden pictured below!). The guest rooms are super chic, and whether you book a room overlooking the breathtaking beach or the green lagoon, each room has an incredible view.
If you want to delve into activities other than sipping on jalapeño margaritas by the infinity pool, RM offers an array of fun including golf, snorkeling, kayaking, & horseback riding…to name a few.
There really isn’t any reason to leave this fabulous resort, as it has tremendous restaurants–from sushi to Italian to Mexican. All staff is extremely accommodating, as they granted our wish and set up a private dining table overlooking the lagoon for Michael’s birthday! Overall, Playa del Carmen is an amazing weekend getaway! Disfrutar!
